Willacy County hurricane guide

Willacy County Emergency Management, in Raymondville, plans for disasters in the county, and the County Judge leads emergency management. Willacy County is on the Gulf coast, with Port Mansfield on the Laguna Madre, and also covers Raymondville, Lyford, San Perlita, and rural farmland. The county website does not publish an alert signup, an evacuation zone map, or a shelter list, so call Emergency Management before a storm to ask how you will be warned, and leave when officials order an evacuation.

Willacy County does not publish a list of hurricane shelters. During a storm, watch the county's Facebook page and local news for shelter information, and call Emergency Management with questions. Do not go to a shelter until officials say it is open.
