Haute Matsiatra cyclone guide¶
Haute Matsiatra is a highland region in south central Madagascar. Risk and disaster management is coordinated nationally by the Bureau National de Gestion des Risques et des Catastrophes (BNGRC). BNGRC lists a prefecture at Fianarantsoa among the 18 prefectures it consulted in December 2025. Météo Madagascar issues the cyclone alert levels. BNGRC's Malagasy page on the 2022 to 2023 rainy season says cyclone Batsirai passed through the region. Follow Météo Madagascar and BNGRC, and the instructions of local authorities.
