Fujian typhoon guide¶
Fujian is a coastal province of southeastern China facing the Taiwan Strait. The Fujian Meteorological Bureau issues typhoon warnings by level (Level IV is the lowest), and the provincial flood and typhoon control headquarters announces the provincial typhoon emergency response on the Fujian Provincial Emergency Management Department site. Boats are called back to port and fishers brought ashore during typhoon warnings. Follow your city and county authorities for instructions.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Fujian Provincial Emergency Management Department and Fujian Meteorological Bureau. In an emergency, call 110 for police, 119 for fire, 120 for an ambulance, or 122 for a traffic accident.
What to know in Fujian¶
- In early September 2026 the provincial headquarters kept a Level IV typhoon emergency response for a typhoon written 科罗旺 in Chinese and ended it at 15:00 on 5 September, after the Fujian provincial weather service lifted its Level IV typhoon warning.
- During that response the province told coastal counties to keep managing boats that had returned to port and fishers and fish farmers brought ashore, and said going to sea on one's own was forbidden until the typhoon warning was lifted.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
This page does not list shelters. No official shelter information could be confirmed for Fujian today. Follow instructions from your city, county, or township authorities on whether to move and where to go.
Radio, TV and weather¶
Keep a battery or hand crank radio. When power and cell service fail, radio is often the only way to hear official updates.
