Prince Edward Island hurricane guide¶
The Emergency Measures Organization (EMO) of the PEI Office of Public Safety coordinates emergency management on the Island. The provincial emergency preparedness guide lists hurricanes and coastal flooding among the hazards Islanders may face. Post-Tropical Storm Fiona made landfall on the Island on 24 September 2022. What to know in Prince Edward Island¶
- Past event: Post-Tropical Storm Fiona made landfall on PEI on 24 September 2022. The province's after action report says EMO opened its Provincial Emergency Operations Centre at Level 2 on 22 September 2022, moved to Level 3 on 27 September, and kept it active for 21 days.

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
