National Capital Region (Metro Manila) typhoon guide¶
Metro Manila is the National Capital Region. PAGASA's NCR PAGASA Regional Services Division (PRSD) issues regional advisories for the area, and Quezon City publishes its own emergency hotlines. The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council and the city disaster offices coordinate local response. Follow PAGASA bulletins and your city government for typhoon and flood warnings.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from the regional and local disaster risk reduction and management councils, with PAGASA for weather warnings. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.
What to know in National Capital Region (Metro Manila)¶
- PAGASA says the only way to reduce the effects of a storm surge is to check weather updates, prepare early, and evacuate to high ground when a mandatory evacuation is called.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
PAGASA's storm surge page tells people in a storm surge prone area to identify the safest and quickest way to high ground, to know which concrete reinforced multi-story buildings the local government has designated for evacuation, and to prepare to evacuate as soon as their Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council or barangay officials advise it. If told to evacuate, bring an emergency kit and switch off electrical power and gas. A shelter or evacuation center is open only when your local officials announce it.
