Negros Island Region typhoon guide¶
Negros Island Region is exposed to typhoons and tropical storms. The regional Office of Civil Defense and the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council coordinate disaster response, and PAGASA issues the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals. Provinces in the region include Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental. Follow PAGASA bulletins and the instructions of your municipal and barangay officials.

What to know in Negros Island Region¶
- PAGASA says storm surge is the abnormal rise in sea level during a tropical cyclone, and that it becomes more dangerous when it arrives on top of a high tide. It advises people in storm surge prone areas to prepare to evacuate as soon as the municipal disaster council or barangay officials advise it.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
PAGASA tells people to know the concrete, reinforced multi-story buildings their local government has designated for evacuation. Evacuation centres are announced by your municipal or city disaster office and barangay officials. This page does not list any as open.
