Lam Dong typhoon guide¶
Lâm Đồng now includes the former Đắk Nông province, the former Bình Thuận province and the former Lâm Đồng province (merger of 1 July 2025), so it runs from the Central Highlands around Đà Lạt to the coast at Phan Thiết and the island special zone of Phú Quý. The Ban Chỉ huy Phòng thủ dân sự tỉnh (provincial Civil Defense Command) directs disaster response, with the Department of Agriculture and Environment on duty to follow the weather and advise it, and the provincial hydro-meteorological station (Đài Khí tượng thủy văn tỉnh) issuing forecasts. The province's directives cover heavy rain, flooding, flash floods and landslides, and reservoir releases.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from the provincial Civil Defense Command (Ban Chỉ huy Phòng thủ dân sự tỉnh Lâm Đồng). In an emergency, call 112, the national emergency number. It connects to 113 (police), 114 (fire and rescue), and 115 (medical emergency).
What to know in Lam Dong¶
- The provincial portal item on heavy rain and flooding, which has no date on the page, gives the instructions the People's Committee has used: the command keeps officers on duty 24 hours, warns people, reviews landslide, flash flood and waterlogging areas and moves people when necessary; owners of dams and reservoirs follow the forecasts and warn downstream before releasing water; the hydro-meteorological station issues timely warnings.
- The provincial police portal's guidance for typhoons and floods: follow forecasts, do not go out while a typhoon is making landfall, secure roofs and windows, raise valuables against flooding, obey evacuation requests, store clean water, food and medicine for at least 5 to 7 days, switch off power before a typhoon arrives, do not walk, swim or drive through fast flowing water, and shelter away from big trees and power poles during lightning.
- A Lâm Đồng portal item on the national number 112 says the line is free, takes reports 24 hours a day, is based at the standing office of the provincial civil defense command (the provincial Military Command), and covers floods, landslides, heavy rain, storms and people cut off by disasters.

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
No standing list of shelters was confirmed for this page. Moving people from flood and landslide risk areas is done by the commune and ward authorities and the provincial command. Follow your commune or ward People's Committee for whether to move and where to go.

Keep a battery or hand crank radio. When power and cell service fail, radio is often the only way to hear official updates.
