Gia Lai typhoon guide¶
Gia Lai now includes the former Bình Định province and the former Gia Lai province (merger of 1 July 2025), so it runs from the Central Highlands to the coast at Quy Nhơn. The Ban Chỉ huy Phòng thủ dân sự tỉnh (provincial Civil Defense Command) directs disaster response; reports go to it through the Provincial Military Command and the standing disaster prevention office. The Gia Lai Provincial Hydro-Meteorological Station (Đài Khí tượng Thủy văn tỉnh Gia Lai) supplies forecasts. The Department of Agriculture and Environment says most communes and wards are exposed to typhoons and floods, with coastal communes exposed to storm surge, many to flooding, and mountain communes to flash floods and landslides.

No standing list of shelters was confirmed for this page. The commune and ward authorities set evacuation points in their response plans and organize moving people. Follow your commune or ward People's Committee and the provincial command for whether to move and where to go.
Radio, TV and weather¶
Keep a battery or hand crank radio. When power and cell service fail, radio is often the only way to hear official updates.
