Dien Bien typhoon guide¶
Dien Bien is a mountainous northwestern province and was not merged in the 1 July 2025 reorganization. The Ban Chỉ huy Phòng thủ dân sự tỉnh (provincial Civil Defense Command) is responsible for disaster prevention in the province, and the Sở Nội vụ (Department of Home Affairs) has published national guides on how to respond to typhoons, flash floods, and landslides. The main hazards are flash floods and landslides after heavy rain.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
No standing list of shelters or evacuation sites was confirmed for this page. Evacuation is organized by the commune and ward People's Committees and the provincial Civil Defense Command under the "4 on the spot" principle (4 tại chỗ), which provincial directives repeat. Follow your commune or ward authorities for whether to move and where to go.
