Oceanport hurricane guide¶
Oceanport is a coastal borough in Monmouth County. Its Office of Emergency Management page explains the county's hurricane evacuation zones, which are based on storm surge, and the borough's flood page covers flood insurance and flood zones. Evacuation zones are not the same as flood zones.

What to know in Oceanport¶
- Evacuation zones should not be confused with flood zones. They are based on storm surge from worst case storm models, so find your zone before a storm.
- Homeowner insurance does not cover floods. Flood insurance is available in Oceanport, and most policies have a 30-day waiting period. The Building Department can answer flood zone and permit questions at 732-222-0641.
- The borough has an Emergency Alert System that gives alerts by tone and voice announcement at locations around the borough.
