Dover hurricane guide¶
Dover is the capital city and the largest city in Kent County, Delaware. The city's Emergency Management office posts severe weather, hurricane preparedness, and protect-your-property information and says closings and notices are posted on its social media page. See the Kent County page for county agencies and alerts. The old cityofdover.com address is an expired parked page and is not used here.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
The City of Dover does not publish shelter locations on the pages checked. Shelters, if any, are announced for each emergency, so do not go to a site until it is announced. See the Kent County page.
