Goochland County hurricane guide¶
Goochland County's Department of Fire-Rescue & Emergency Services runs the county's Emergency Management program and its Emergency Operations Center. The county sends alerts through Goochland Alerts and says it uses them for weather, flooding, and other emergencies. Goochland is an inland county. To report downed trees, flooding, or road hazards, the county points residents to VDOT.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
The county pages checked do not publish a standing list of shelters. If shelters are opened, the county announces them through its alerts. Do not go to a site until it is announced as open.
