City of Fredericksburg hurricane guide¶
In the City of Fredericksburg, the Fire Department runs emergency management. The city says it has responded to severe storms, river flooding, hurricanes, tropical storms, tornadoes, and an earthquake, and it is a StormReady community. Fredericksburg Alert sends text and email notices of river flooding and weather warnings. Fredericksburg is an independent city on the Rappahannock River. Call 911 for emergencies.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Emergency sheltering is one of the city's emergency management responsibilities, but the city page does not list shelters. Watch Fredericksburg Alert and do not go to a building unless officials say it is open.
