City of Charlottesville hurricane guide¶
The City of Charlottesville Emergency Management office is at 100 5th Street NE, and the city asks every resident to sign up for emergency alerts. Alerts come through CUA 911 Alerts, run by the Charlottesville-UVA-Albemarle Emergency Communications Center. Charlottesville is an inland independent city, so flooding and wind from the remains of tropical storms are the main storm concerns.
