Young County hurricane guide¶
Young County's emergency management coordinator is the Chief Deputy of the Sheriff's Office in Graham. The county is inland, but the remains of tropical storms can bring heavy rain, flash flooding, and wind. The county page lists no alert signup, so call the coordinator's office for current information, and never drive through flooded roads.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Young County Emergency Management Coordinator. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Young County does not publish a standing list of shelters. If shelters open, follow announcements from the county and your city. Do not go to a shelter until it is announced as open.
