Nacogdoches County hurricane guide

Emergency Management in the City of Nacogdoches works with Nacogdoches County to serve residents of both the city and the county during disasters. The county is inland, but hurricanes and tropical storms that move up from the coast can bring heavy rain, flooding, high winds, and tornadoes to East Texas. Sign up for NacWise alerts and never drive through flooded roads.

Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

Nacogdoches County does not publish a shelter list. If shelters are needed, officials announce them for each emergency. Do not go to a site until officials announce it is open. Watch NacWise alerts and local news.
