Kent County hurricane guide

Kent County, in the Rolling Plains with Jayton as the county seat, does not publish an emergency management page on its website. The courthouse in Jayton is the county contact. The county is far from the coast, but Heavy rain from the remains of a tropical storm can cause flash flooding and high winds this far from the coast. Never drive through flooded roads. Dial 911 from anywhere in the county in an emergency.
