Jackson County hurricane guide

Jackson County Emergency Management, at the courthouse in Edna, plans for disasters and sends CodeRED alerts. The county's evacuation plan names flood prone areas, the area below the Lake Texana spillway, and rural land along the Navidad River among the places that may need to evacuate. The county does not publish ZIP code evacuation zones, so sign up for CodeRED and follow the county's orders during a storm.
