Hood County hurricane guide¶
The Hood County Office of Emergency Management, in Granbury, plans for weather and other hazards for the county and the cities of Granbury, Cresson, Lipan, and Tolar. Hood is an inland county. On flooding, the county tells people that 6 inches of fast-moving water can knock over an adult and 2 feet can carry away most vehicles, and to Turn Around Don't Drown when a flash flood warning is issued.

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Hood County does not publish a standing list of shelters on its emergency management page. Check Hood County's Everbridge alerts and your city's alerts during a storm.
