Grand Prairie hurricane guide¶
Grand Prairie is a city in western Dallas County that reaches into Tarrant and Ellis counties. It has its own police and fire departments and an Office of Emergency Management. Parts of the city are in the 100-year floodplain, and the remains of a tropical storm can bring flash flooding, severe storms, and tornadoes.

What to know in Grand Prairie¶
- Grand Prairie has three flood warning sirens in floodplain areas that can become cut off in a flood. When they sound, you will hear four tones and a spoken message that flood water is rising and you should leave the area.
- The city's solar powered outdoor warning sirens cover more than 95 percent of Grand Prairie.
