Marlboro County hurricane guide¶
Marlboro County Fire Services and Emergency Management, led by the Fire Coordinator who is also the Emergency Management Director, serves the county from Bennettsville. The county website carries little hurricane guidance, so call the office or check county announcements and the state hurricane pages.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Marlboro County Fire Services and Emergency Management. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Marlboro County's website does not list shelters. Use the state shelter page for announced shelters and call the emergency management office with questions. Do not go to a shelter until it is announced as open.
