Lancaster County hurricane guide¶
Lancaster County Emergency Management, at 111 Covenant Place in Lancaster, coordinates local, state, and federal agencies and volunteers to prepare for and respond to disasters. The county has a StormReady page and a CERT program. Check the county website and state hurricane pages for storm-specific guidance.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Lancaster County's emergency management pages do not list shelters. Use the state shelter page for announced shelters and call the emergency management office with questions. Do not go to a shelter until it is announced as open.

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
