Hilton Head Island hurricane guide

Hilton Head Island is a coastal barrier island town. The town says storm surge has the most potential for loss of life on the coast, and that flooding on the island can come from hurricanes, storm surge, high tides, and heavy rain. The town runs a Hurricane Center page and emergency alerts. Use the county page for county agencies and shelters.
