Washington County hurricane guide

The Washington County Department of Public Safety plans for natural and man-made disasters in the county and its 66 municipalities. Heavy rain flooded many communities on September 12 and September 20, 2026, and the county asked residents and businesses to report damage online and held a recovery resource center in early October. The county's pages do not publish flood safety steps or a shelter list, so sign up for county alerts and follow announcements.
