The Tioga County Department of Emergency Services runs the county Emergency Management Agency and the 911 center from Wellsboro. The county says Tioga County is StormReady, and its page links the 2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan, local weather data, a Disaster Recovery Action Plan, and a field survey of a 2024 flooding event in the Cowanesque Valley. The county page does not publish an alert signup or a shelter list.

Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

Tioga County's emergency services pages do not publish a list of shelters. Check county and local announcements to learn whether any shelter is open. Do not go to a site until it is announced.
