Susquehanna County hurricane guide

The Susquehanna County Emergency Management Agency works from the county Public Safety Center in New Milford. The county is a StormReady community and offers an online damage assessment report form for people affected by a disaster. Its pages do not publish evacuation zones, flood guidance, an alert signup, or a shelter list, so follow county and municipal announcements during a storm.

Checked on October 8, 2026

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Susquehanna County Emergency Management Agency. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.

Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

Susquehanna County's emergency management page does not publish a list of shelters. Check county and municipal announcements to learn whether any shelter is open. Do not go to a site until it is announced.

Cities and towns

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
