Clearfield County hurricane guide¶
The Clearfield County Department of Emergency Management in Clearfield runs county emergency management and 9-1-1 from its Leonard Street office, and the county has a 2022 Hazard Mitigation Plan update. Clearfield County is inland and wooded, so the remains of tropical storms are mainly a flash flood and stream flood risk along the West Branch Susquehanna River and its creeks. Sign up for CodeRED alerts before a storm.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
The Clearfield County emergency management pages that were checked do not list standing shelters for floods or storms. Shelters are announced when an emergency happens, so do not go to a site until the county announces it. Follow CodeRED alerts and local news, and call the Department of Emergency Management if you need help.
