Rockingham County hurricane guide

Rockingham County Emergency Services runs emergency management, the 9-1-1 center, EMS, and the Fire Marshal's Office from the Emergency Operations Center in Reidsville. The county is inland and has no storm surge evacuation zones, so heavy rain, flooding, and high winds are the main hurricane dangers. ROCO AlertNow sends free alerts for the county and every city and town in it, so sign up before a storm.

Rockingham County does not post a standing list of hurricane shelters on its website. If shelters are needed, watch ROCO AlertNow and county announcements.
