Beaufort hurricane guide¶
Beaufort is the historic waterfront county seat of Carteret County, on the water across from Morehead City. Storm surge and flooding are the main dangers, especially near the water and in low-lying areas. The town has its own police and fire departments and runs its own water and sewer system.
