Jefferson County Emergency Management, at the Metro-Jeff Public Safety Building in Watertown, coordinates emergency planning and response for the county. Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

Jefferson County does not publish a standing list of storm shelters on the pages we checked. The county's emergency management page links to the American Red Cross preparedness pages. Call 911 for emergencies. For questions, call Emergency Management at 315-786-2654.
