Paterson hurricane guide¶
Paterson's Office of Emergency Management runs the city's Paterson Alert signup and posts a medical needs shelter checklist and flood information. The city also hosts the state Blue Acres flood buyout program page for homes damaged by storms or prone to flooding, and notes that the program followed Hurricane Ida in September 2021.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
The city posts a medical needs shelter checklist but no shelter list. Do not go to any site until the city or county says it is open. This town's pages say little about hurricanes beyond what its county publishes, so also read the county page for the county agencies, alerts, and shelter information.
