Harvey Cedars hurricane guide

Harvey Cedars is a barrier island borough on Long Beach Island in Ocean County. The borough says it lies entirely in the 100-year floodplain and in a FEMA special flood hazard area, so hurricane storm surge and coastal flooding are the main risks. If evacuation is required, the police use the public address systems on police cars to alert and instruct residents, and no siren sounds for an evacuation or weather emergency. Residents who need help to evacuate can ask the police department to put them on the Community Wellness Program.
