Oakland hurricane guide¶
Oakland is a borough in Bergen County where river flooding is the main storm concern. The borough says about 1.2 square miles of it lie in the FEMA 100-year flood zone from river overbank flows, and it has been affected by floods including Hurricane Irene in 2011. It has its own flood commission, hurricane preparedness page, and Swift911 notifications.
