Sardis hurricane guide

Sardis is a town in Panola County, far inland from the coast. The remnants of a hurricane can still bring strong wind, tornadoes, and flooding here. The town runs its own water service and picks up limbs and brush each week.

What to know in Sardis

  • The town picks up bagged leaves, brush, and limbs on regular pickup days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday). Brush must be cut in 4 foot lengths, 4 inches or less across, and placed neatly at the curb, not in the street. The town does not pick up trees cut by professionals or large lot clearing jobs.
  • The Sardis Fire Department tests the town's tornado siren on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m.
