Calhoun County hurricane guide¶
Calhoun County Emergency Management handles disasters for Pittsboro, Bruce, Calhoun City, and the rest of the county. The county is in north central Mississippi and has no coastal evacuation zones, but the remains of tropical storms can bring heavy rain, flash flooding, high winds, and tornadoes. Report storm damage or unmet needs after a storm to the county emergency manager.
Checked on October 2, 2026
Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Calhoun County Emergency Management. In a life threatening emergency, call 911.

The county does not publish a shelter list online. During a storm, follow announcements from Calhoun County Emergency Management, your town, and local news, and do not go to a shelter until it is announced as open.
