Sagadahoc County hurricane guide¶
The Sagadahoc County Emergency Management Agency (SCEMA) in Bath works with the county's towns on preparedness and response. The county started a RAVE mass notification system on July 1, 2024. Sign up before a storm, and do not text RAVE or Smart911 back after receiving an alert. Maine Emergency Management says tropical storms bring storm surge and rip tides to the coast.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Hurricane and storm shelters open only when officials announce them. Check alerts from your county and town, or call 211, to learn what is open. Do not travel to a site until it is announced.
