Lawrence County hurricane guide

Lawrence County Emergency Management is the county office for emergency planning and response in Lawrence County, in eastern and central Kentucky, an inland county where the storm risks are flooding, flash flooding, and wind from heavy storms and the remains of tropical storms. Call 911 in an emergency and use the office number below for planning questions. The county's official pages do not publish flood or evacuation guidance, so follow county alerts and National Weather Service warnings, and never drive through flood water.

The county does not publish a list of designated shelters on the official pages we checked. If shelters are opened, the county announces them; do not go to a site until it is announced. Check county alerts, local news, or call the county office listed above.

Cities and towns

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
