Franklin County hurricane guide¶
The joint Frankfort/Franklin County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security coordinates planning and response for the city and county. The county says much of Franklin County lies in two 100-year floodplains, along Elkhorn Creek and the Kentucky River, so flooding is the main risk. Ask the county about flood zones before a storm.
