Randolph County hurricane guide

The Randolph County Emergency Management Agency plans for natural and man-made disasters and coordinates preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation. The county page stresses flood insurance as part of mitigation. The county does not publish evacuation zones, alert signup, or a shelter list on the pages checked.

Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

The county does not publish a standing list of shelters. Shelters are announced for each event, so do not go to a site until the county says it is open. Check the county's alerts and website for announcements.

Cities and towns

Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
