Lamar County hurricane guide¶
The Lamar County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) in Barnesville prepares for and responds to man-made and natural disasters in the county, which includes Barnesville, Milner, and Aldora. The county and the Sheriff's Office offer CodeRED weather alerts.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
Lamar County's EMA page does not publish a shelter list. Check CodeRED alerts, and do not go to any site until the county announces it.
Cities and towns¶
Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
