Tybee Island hurricane guide

Tybee Island is a barrier island city in Chatham County, Georgia, on the Atlantic coast. The city says that living on a barrier island means residents may be subject to evacuation orders when a hurricane approaches, and that storm surge from a near pass of a hurricane, king tide, or major rain event can cause flooding. The city points residents to the Chatham Emergency Management Agency for evacuation zones, so see the Chatham County page as well.
