Clermont hurricane guide¶
Clermont is an inland city in Lake County. It is not a beach town, but past hurricanes have affected it with wind, fallen trees, and heavy rain. The city has its own police and fire departments and runs its own water, sewer, and trash service.

What to know in Clermont¶
- When storms have threatened, the city has made sand and sandbags available in Clermont, with locations and hours announced during storm preparations. Bring a shovel and expect to fill the bags yourself. The limit has been 10 bags per vehicle.
- City trash carts are green with a white City of Clermont logo. If your carts are a different color, Lake County likely collects your trash, so follow the county's debris instructions.
- Clermont police and fire keep answering 911 calls during a storm for as long as it is safe. The city posts updates on its website and Facebook pages.

Power, water and debris¶
- Clermont Utilities (water and sewer): Report water main breaks, sewer backups, and low water pressure. After hours, call the same number and choose option 3. Phone: 352-241-0178. Website.
- City of Clermont Sanitation: After a storm, you do not need to call for pickup. Collection usually runs one day late, and extra storm debris pickups may be added. Put debris at the curb without blocking driveways or the street. Website.
