Palm Coast hurricane guide

Palm Coast is the most densely populated city in Flagler County. Its canals, swales, and ditches carry storm rain away from homes, and many homes use a sewer tank that needs electricity. The Flagler County Sheriff's Office provides police service, and the city has its own fire department.

What to know in Palm Coast

  • Many homes have a PEP sewer tank that needs power to pump. If the power goes out, greatly reduce your water use, because the tank holds only about one normal day of use before it can back up into the house. If the alarm sounds or the red light blinks, call Customer Service at 386-986-2360, not a plumber.
  • If water pressure is lost, the city issues boil water notices. Small areas get a notice on the front door. For large events, notices go out through the news, email, social media, and the city home page.
