La Paz County hurricane guide¶
The La Paz County Office of Emergency Management is in Parker. The county's emergency notification system page said it was under construction when checked, so ask the office about alerts. For flood risk, the county's floodplain page points residents to FEMA's website to check their flood zone and requires a floodplain permit for construction in a flood zone.

Shelters open only when local officials announce them. Check your county alerts and local news to find out whether a shelter is open near you, and do not go to a site until it is announced as open. If officials tell you to evacuate, leave right away.
