Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
The city's emergency shelters page, which covers Morgan County, says shelters located at schools are open to the public only during non-school hours, and that people with cats or dogs may seek shelter at City Hall if the animals are leashed or crated. Shelters are announced for each storm, so check city and county alerts to find out whether any is open.
