Leyte typhoon guide¶
Leyte is a large province in Eastern Visayas with the provincial capitol in Tacloban City, and cities including Tacloban City and Ormoc City. The provincial administration page lists the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer with a telephone, a mobile number, and an email. Typhoon and tropical storm warnings come from PAGASA through its Tropical Cyclone Wind Signals. Follow PAGASA bulletins and the instructions of your municipal and barangay officials.

Every phone number and web address on this page was checked against official sources on that date. Details can change, especially during a storm. Always follow instructions from Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer's office, Provincial Government of Leyte (listed on the provincial administration page). In a life threatening emergency, call 911.
What to know in Leyte¶

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
PAGASA tells people to know the concrete, reinforced multi-story buildings their local government has designated for evacuation. Evacuation centres are announced by your municipal or city disaster office and barangay officials. This page does not list any as open.
Cities and towns¶
Each city has its own services and some have their own alerts. The county's evacuation zones, evacuation centers, and emergency alerts cover everyone, in every city and in unincorporated areas.
