Benguet typhoon guide¶
Benguet is a landlocked mountain province in the Cordillera Administrative Region, with La Trinidad as its capital and 13 municipalities. Baguio City sits within it but is separate from the provincial government. The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PGO-PDRRMO) implements disaster programs for the province. The provincial profile says rain-induced landslides are the main hazard: 85.19 percent of the land area is highly to very highly susceptible. Typhoons, flooding, and earthquakes also affect it.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
PAGASA's storm surge page tells people in a storm surge prone area to identify the safest and quickest way to high ground, to know which concrete reinforced multi-story buildings the local government has designated for evacuation, and to prepare to evacuate as soon as their Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council or barangay officials advise it. A shelter or evacuation center is open only when your local officials announce it.
