Shire of Exmouth cyclone guide¶
The Shire of Exmouth is on the North West Cape of Western Australia and includes the town of Exmouth. The Shire publishes Local Emergency Management Arrangements and a Local Recovery Plan, and lets residents register for SMS updates about emergency services. Tropical Cyclone Narelle affected Exmouth on 27 March 2026, and the Shire has a recovery information page about it. For warnings check the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES), the Bureau of Meteorology and Emergency WA.

Evacuation centers¶
Open only when announced
Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.
