Sunshine Coast Council cyclone guide

Sunshine Coast Council established its Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) in May 2008. The council runs a Disaster Hub with warnings, road closures and evacuation centre information, also available in the council app. Council service centres are at Caloundra, Maroochydore and Nambour.

Evacuation centers

Open only when announced

Evacuation centers open only when officials announce them, and not every center opens for every storm. Check the official list of open centers before you leave home. Bring your own bedding, food, water, and medicines.

The council says its Disaster Hub includes evacuation centres among its information. Do not assume any is open. Check the Disaster Hub and council announcements.
