Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council cyclone guide¶
Lockhart River Aboriginal Shire Council serves the remote community of Lockhart River on Cape York. The council says the isolation of the area can make outside help hard to reach in a disaster, and that extreme storms and flooding can occur from November to April. The community has its own State Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service. For life threatening emergencies call Triple Zero (000).
